Summertime is here officially... finally. Yesterday, it was a really good summer weather, our thermometer was reading +28c, which was beautiful. Here are the kids around our balconies.

Last Sunday, Joonatan finished up the club for the spring... and for all... he's heading to preschool this fall. We went and bought some ice creams and to celebrate it. Benjamin enjoyed so much that he ate his ice cream laying on the bench.

slideshow upgraded

this was quicker than I expected. Flikr is offering a better flickrshow by fabio cavassini, (of whom I know nothing about, except that show) that allows you to embed the slideshow to any website. Check mine out, if feeling so inclined.

The time and thumbnail panels go void if you move your mouse off the picture, and get back to life as you move near them. ...clever

slideshow on the neigbouring page

I opened a slideshow next to this blog. It's powered by flickrviewer and has annoying white marginals due to design bug on the engine. However, it's the best I got running so far and does it until I find something better.

The pictures are the editors picks from my flickr folders. If you like watching photos, click yourself over there.

I also did my first ever dive into html and *designed* the porch to hirviniemi.net. That dive nearly killed me and I might never get into that stuff again, but check it out, it's truly amazing. woah!

And to those who wonder what did I actually do... I did rewrite (or rather copy/paste from others) the index file on the server and managed to get background black and the text look like that. (markus did help me over a couple of ditchies...) but giving that, with my trial-error-trial-error-trial-error-trial-error-x-x-x-x-trial-triumph method it took me hours.

I took myself out for reflecting couple of things in order to sketch out some plans... and to take some photos meanwhile. How can a job get any better than that... I don't know, but I ended up thinking nothing but pictures and had to run all day today to cover up. But I did have great time in beautiful weather. Here's some details along the way.

The best moment of the walkaround was a three minute hide-and-seek with a black woodpecker. It flew behind the grass and messed around with the moss, popping his head up every 5th sec. Each time I tried to nail it with camera but missed 8times out of 10 completely. I sneaked closer each time it bowed down, until I was only about two meters away. But I missed the capture on each freaking peep, and finally scared it away. Here's one of the hits.

fun on the labor day

Joonatan sang in Jippii Choir on Monday night. He was thrilled about it for days before and enjoyed every second. He was one of the youngest (and cutest to my estimation... :)) and we were proud watching him.

The choir's band and the main body of singers travel around the country, and the local kids practice the songs from CD and join in for the concert.

Here's Joonatan in the costume for club's costume party. He wanted to be "a mysterious man" with a cloak (or whatever you'd call it in english) I promised him that, and ended up sewing it myself. (didn't know I can sew... me neither and it took a couple of hours more than I thought) but it turned out fine. Joonatan was mysterious in the sense of an agent or a detective (he's dream job beside interior designer, of which he does not use that word...)

and the resemblance to the guy with similar cloak and a scythe is completely unintentional.
